Abdul Basit Adeel
Abdul Basit is a graduate assistant at the Center and serves as personal aide to the Director. He studied Political Science & International Relations, Sociology, and Psychology at Istanbul Şehir University. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Political Science at SUNY-Binghamton. His areas of interests include environmental politics, regional security, international political economy, and comparative politics of Pakistan and Turkey.
Aişe Gül Akkoyun
Aişe Gül is a double-major student at Istanbul Şehir University. She is studying Political Science and International Relations as well as Law. Officially, she is a junior in Political Science since the academic year 2016-2017 but she is a second-year law student. As an undergraduate, she serves as a student assistant. She is mainly interested in International Law, International Organizations and Strategy Theories of International Relations.
Elvina is a junior year student in Political Science and International Relations at İstanbul Şehir Üniversitesi. Due to her passion for economy, she enrolled in a double major in Management in 2014. She is interested in Human Rights, Political Socialization, Ethnic Conflicts and Peacekeeping. In addition to being a native speaker of Azerbaijani Turkish, Elvina is fluent in English and Turkish, and has intermediate proficiency in Russian.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Transcultural Communication from the University of Graz. With a gender and culture sensitive approach, Alexander’s education at the Department of Translation Studies combined language acquisition and basics in translation and interpreting in German (mother tongue), English and Turkish. Driven by his enthusiasm for engaging with people, he enriches his working environment at Istanbul Şehir University as an Administrative Assistant to the director of the Center for Modern Turkish Studies.
Isra Sakipi is a junior year student in Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul Sehir University. Because of her passion for business, she started a minor program in International Trade and Management in 2016. As an undergraduate, she serves as a student assistant. Being fluent in many Balkan languages, her areas of interest include The Balkan region and their Foreign Policy, Ethnic Conflicts, Peace Keeping and International Security.
