Social Policies: Institutions and Individuals

The aim of this workshop is to discuss new approaches in social policies and welfare state studies using new conceptualization and the state of the art statistical techniques. The workshop focuses on the roles of four main institutions—namely the state, the family, the market, and local actors in the distribution of welfare shaped by the intersections of age, class, gender, and race relations in Turkey as well as Europe. The workshop will cover the following topics: family, social care and social services, children and adolescents, inequality and social exclusion, immigration and social policy, employment, women, public reforms, globalization and its risks, intergenerational transfers, welfare states and typologies, health care system, social policy and welfare institutions, ageing, poverty. There is no participation fee for the workshop. A short summary of the paper (300-500 words) has to be sent by email to Furkan Çeliktaş (firstname.lastname@example.org) by December 2, 2016.
